By bringing together the most relevant stakeholders, solar@cop aims at building consensus across the board on key actions to be taken in order to reach a massive acceleration of deployment of solar power at global scale. Solar PV has the potential to tackle climate change at scale while delivering an affordable and clean power to everyone, providing the right conditions are instaured. Hence, it must play a central role in the achievement of COP 21’s objectives.

The first solar@cop took place in Marrakech at COP22, COP Conference Center, Grand Conference Room (n°9), Green Zone, on the 15th November 2016 from 5 p.m. to 8p.m.

Solar@cop 2016, co-organized by CGEM, MEDEF International and Terrawatt Initiative, was the first of annual COP side events entirely dedicated to the Solar in the Energy Revolution that gathered, at the climax of COP 22, the global leaders from the political, industrial, financial, academics and civil society horizons that are actually taking action and making the future.
